Based on the unique 'learn and earn model', International School of Business and Media has tied up with Shoppers stop to launch a course in Fashion Retail Management. Designed for a duration of 18 months the course promises to place students in premium retail outlets of the country after completion.
Divided into nine months of classroom learning and nine months of practical training, the course equips students to handle the front end profile of Shoppers Stop as Fashion assistant, graduating to take over any managerial position in Shoppers Stop or in the retail sector. The skill set acquired during the course coupled with on-the-job training also prepare students to handle sales and marketing profile even outside the retail sector. In future students can laterally transit to verticals like hospitality management, infrastructure management, facility management and marketing and sales to name a few.

Designed by IIMA, the course curriculum includes subjects such as Visual Merchandising, Retail Selling Skills, Loyalty Programme, Fashion Product Knowledge and Store Operations accompanied with quarterly tests. Trained over a over a period of 18 months candidates will be exposed to all aspects of retail management from the business aspects and managing customers to the more creative areas like shop windows and presentation.

What distinguishes the programme in Fashion retail programme is the unique "earn while you learn model"which lets students earn approximately Rs. 9000 per month during the training. After successful completion of the course in around six to twelve months time, Fashion Assistants can opt for a management position by clearing an assessment. Successful candidates will further be groomed for a management position via a special programme called "Baby Kangaroo". Reassessed for their performance at the end of one year, candidate will be eligible to qualify for the position of Department Manager, for which the compensation would range between Rs. 2.75 to 3 lakhs.
