Jharkhand government is planning to set up an Innovation Lab with the help of IIM Ahmedabad. The lab will be setup in a way to meet international standards. Government has signed an MoU in the presence of Jharkhand Information Technology Secretary, Sunil Kumar Barnwal and Sailesh Gandhi, a professor of IIM Ahmedabad, said the official release to the media. The purpose behind signing an MoU is that it would facilitate new job opportunities, local resources would be utilized and it would increase economic activities in the state. Chief Minister Raghubar Das said this will show new directions to youth and entrepreneurs.
Sunil Kumar Barnwal also expressed that there would be a work station in the lab, it would be equipped with WiFi and it would be functional in eight months. According to the press release,the main centre of the Innovation lab would be in Ranchi and sub-centre will be opened at training centres. The lab would be connected with foreign investors, banks, corporate, businesses affiliation, foundry establishment and others.
Setting an innovation lab with the help of IIM-A would be beneficial to the state sinceIIM-A has been ranked as the number one management school in the country, year after year in the last couple of decades. In its latest ranking, The Economist has also ranked IIM Ahmedabad at 56th position among the top 100 international B-schools in the world that offer full time MBA.
This innovation lab would be named as ‘Jharkhand Innovation Lab’. The collaboration with elite institutions like IIM-A would create opportunities for the youth in the state. Economic activities in the state will get a boost and it would open doors for investors and traders.
