In a never ending race to compete with world class universities Prakash Javadekar will held a meeting with IIT Directors in order to set up reforms which will enable to IIT's to improve their performance on world class scale.
In the meeting some major points will be discussed and decisions will be taken on various issues such funding and filling the vacant faculty positions.
Later this month a comprehensive meeting will be held among the high ranking officials of the government and Directors of premium institutes of India to address various issues which currently all IITs are facing and these issues are preventing our country's premium institutes to achieve global ranking despite having world class faculty, infrastructure, technology, programs and not to mention best students from all over the country.
The minister has asked the IITs to present a possible plan which can help in making these institutes financially stronger as:
1.Issues related to funding and vacant faculty are pervading in the institution from long time.
2.The government is keen on improving the global ranking of the institutions and to place them alongside Ivy League universities.
3.Mr. Javadekar recently visited IIT Delhi and discussed these various issues faculty and the management.
4.Seeing the issues the government is proposing to set up a new Higher Education Financing Agency in order to solve the problems related to IIT's funding as this will immensely support the institutions for higher learning.
