Students, who are interested in learning the Korean language can now apply for the admission in the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The university has announced a certificate program in Korean Language and Cultural Program for July 2018 session. The course will impart knowledge about the basics of the Korean language to the beginners and has audio-visual components along with the Self Learning Material (SLM). The program is available in the Korean and English language.
Eligibility criteria
In order to be eligible for the course, the candidate must have passed class 12 and should have a basic understanding of the English language. The age of the applicant must be minimum 18 years.
“The relation between India and the Republic of Korea is unique in nature. The relations which are more than 2 millennia old, provides both India and Korea an opportunity to reach new heights in social, economic and political spheres. Presently, thousands of people work in Korean giants like Samsung and Hyundai in India and due to this reason the demand of this program would be huge in India,” said Prof Anju Sahgal Gupta, Director-SOFL
Bhaskar, the coordinator of the Korean program, said that this certification program in the Korean language is the only program in India which is developed in ODL mode with the academic expertise provided by the Korean Embassy. The last date to enroll in the program is August 15, 2018.
