On Thursday, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu stressed on the importance and need of creating a healthy nation which can be done by introducing the yoga curriculum in schools.
“The practice of Yoga is important for positive thoughts. If it is included in the school curriculum it is possible to create a healthy nation. Yoga also helps in relief from stress due to the changing lifestyles,” Naidu said.
He was participating in an international Yoga event Bandra Reclamation Sealink Promenade and said that the ancient Indian discipline was an invaluable gift to the world from India. He also performed asans at the event and said Yoga is an ancient science and is important for the modern day world. Youngsters must practice it for a healthy lifestyle.
BJP MP from North Central Mumbai Poonam Mahajan, local MLA andMumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar and Union minister Babul Supriyo were also present at the event. Governorʼs Secretary Venugopal Reddy, Deputy Secretary Ranjit Kumar and other officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan also participated in the event and performed several exercises.
