The Gujarat Quiz 2017, organized by Education department concluded on Sunday in Gandhinagar. The quiz was organized after a long gap of seven years. The quiz started on August 15 and witnessed the participation of 23 lakh students in four levels-school/college, taluka, district and state.

Three state level winners each from one category -Class VI to VIII, IX to XII and college- were declared on Sunday. There were 2240 questions in the state round from Gujaratʼs culture, history, geography, industry, education and literature which covered 1800 questions from taluka and district rounds.

Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said the Gujarat quiz was started by Narendra Modi in 2010 in order to make students more aware about their area's religious, historical and geographical significance.

“It was first organized by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi but somehow could not be conducted in the following years. I hope in 2018 too, I will preside over even a better and larger quiz event,” said Chudasama.
