Great lakes institute of Management, Chennai, one of the top B Schools in India inaugurated the 4th batch of Great Lakes P.S. Senior Secondary school, Management & Entrepreneurship (GLPSS M&E) program.

A certificate program designed for students of 11th standard aims to seed the management education and the spirit of entrepreneurship at a young age. The GLPSS M&E program is a 15 month program with 150 hours of learning where the courses on offer would be taught by leading faculty in Management Education from Great Lakes Institute of Management. The program aims towards improvement of students' understanding of fundamentals in management through Class room lectures, case studies, group discussions, business games, role plays, seminars and group work. Program delivery envisages a judicious integration of latest technology available in learning domain like audio visual aids and Learning management systems.

The only life skill that is needed for success across all domains and at every stage of our life is Management. Talent with exceptional management skills are most sought after in the work place. And Entrepreneurship has been the driver for exponential growth in almost all developed economies. If India has to become a developed nation, it needs an explosion of entrepreneurs in the MSME segment. Management & entrepreneurship courses have not received the attention that is deserved and have curiously been neglected in school education.

Speaking at the inauguration, Prof Sriram, Executive Director, Great Lakes Institute of Management said, "The increasing number of enrollments every year stands testimony to the fact that our course delivers an aspect of education that students wish to learn. It is heartening to see the response of students for the course. I wish all the very best to the students in all their future endeavors."

Great Lakes entered into a MoU with PSS Senior Secondary School, Chennai where it is offering this program since 2009. The first and second batch of the program graduated in 2010 & 2011 respectively and the course has been very well received by students, parents and the school. The third edition is nearing completion and the fourth batch of GLPSS program was formally launched at PSS School Mylapore on 26th September 2012. This year, the students from P.S. Matriculation Higher Sec. School have also been included in this program, along with those of P.S. Senior Secondary School.
