Every now and then, the government highlights its intentions of making Indian an education hub for the students from India and other countries. But little concrete has been done in the regard. This recent announcement is another attempt by the government to walk on the same line.
The central government has made arrangements to set up an administrative structure to make 10 government and 10 private education organizations as world-class educating and research foundations, the central HRD minister, Smriti Irani informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
She was quoted saying as, "There is a proposition to set up an administrative design to empower ten government run and ten private foundations to rise as world-class instructing and research establishments".
The answer from the minister was in response to the questions asked by BJP colleague Uday Pratap Singh on whether the legislature has distinguished or proposes to recognize government run colleges or associations that can take India's brand name to the global stage in the field of training and research.
The HRD minister said the legislature has not yet designated any financial assets for the idea but rather will give sufficient backing to help 10 government run organizations.
"The points of interest of the same are being worked out including finalizing the institutions" she said.
