Members of the Jewellery Exporters' Association (JTR) will soon be able to take the Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) diploma programme offered by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in Istanbul.
GIA, the global leader in gem and jewellery education, and JTR have teamed up to make professional sales training readily available through the AJP diploma. This will support the continued expansion that retail jewelers have experienced throughout the country.
"We are delighted to work with the JTR to bring GIA's education programmes to their members," said Donna Baker, President and CEO of GIA. "The Institute is honoured to serve the Turkish trade community through our education courses and seminars. We look forward to guiding members to a rewarding path in gems and jewellery."
GIA also plans to conduct on-going seminars and classes on relevant topics related to the gem and jewellery industry. These programmes will be beneficial to manufacturers, retailers, jewellery designers, retail salespersons and young aspirants.
"This collaboration with GIA will help our members - both seasoned professionals and young entrepreneurs - face challenges in the market confidently," said Ayhan Güner, Chairman of JTR. "We welcome GIA's initiative, which will continue to grow the trade."
"Over the last decade, Turkey has established itself as one of the world's leading trade centres for gems and jewellery," said Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA in India and Middle East. "We want to bring relevant and up-to-date education to members of the trade and thank JTR for giving us this opportunity."
GIA in the Middle East has offered courses in major trade centres across the region, including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
