First Year Junior College (FYJC) has announced the list for admissions in Junior college for all the students who have passed class 10. Students who were not allotted a seat in the first merit list and those who await for a better choice will get the required seat in the second list.
According to statistics which was presented the deputy director of education, by Saturday evening, over 1.06 lakh out of the 1.76 lakh students had secured admission. Saturday was supposed to be the last to secure admissions for all the students whose name were displayed in the first list. According to a college principal, "Most of our seats are taken and being one of the top choices we do not see many withdrawals. Hence we will see a very minimal drop in the second list."
"There are students who apply for the online process in spite of securing admission under the minority quota too. After the first list they prefer to stick to their offline admission," said an education department official. The college principals said that in second merit list too, popular colleges may continue to retain the high cutoffs for admissions and seats of such colleges may remain out of reach for students scoring below 85%.
