A team looking into the aspects of Fulbright Scholarship would be present at the Allahabad University on Monday. The team of educationists would take this opportunity to discuss different aspects of the renowned scholarship with University's students and faculty members.

RK Singh, who is a Fulbright scholar and is in the University's chemistry department, said that US-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), New Delhi, also known as the Fulbright Commission in India, would organize an outreach programme on the University's campus. The members of the commission would discuss the Fulbright Fellowship opportunities during an interaction programme in North Hall of Arts Campus at 1 pm.

He further said, "USIEF had announced an annual competition for Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright Fellowships for Indian citizens for 2016-17 on March 5. Open to PhD scholars, academicians, teachers and professionals, these fellowships are offered in various fields of Science and Humanities."

He also added that "The presentation by USIEF team members would provide details about various Fulbright programmes, eligibility criteria, application procedure, tips on writing a strong application, review process and selection criteria."

The team from the Commission termed the visit as a 'golden opportunity' which would help in attaining academic excellence and allow the students to get acquainted with US culture and traditions. All faculty members and students, especially PG students, DPhil and post-doc scholars have been invited for interaction in the outreach program.

"Although several meritorious students and eminent faculty members are well aware of this coveted scholarship but outreach programmes help remove the confusion or ambiguity in minds of aspiring beneficiaries", said Singh.
