The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has circulated a notification on its official site seeking the opinions of schools, parents, and students on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. It is anticipated that the feedback coming from the stakeholders will help the CBSE to strengthen and reform the machinery of the CCE.

"I saw the circular and I think the CBSE could be planning a modification in the CCE scheme. It is good that the board is asking for feedback from its stakeholders," said Anjali Bowen, Principal of Ryan International School, Kandivli.

In a bid to augment student's performances, the CBSE implemented the CCE system to identify various challenges faced by the students.

CCE but why?

  • A regular practice of CCE not only enhances the cognitive power of student but also psychomotor and skills of the student
  • CCE enhance the overall performance of the student as it identifies the difficulties faced by the students and accordingly employed remedial for the same
  • CCE scheme also inbuilt flexibility for the school administration to plan their own academic schedules as specified under the CCE
  • A thorough examination on the CCE system would identify the challenges faced in the implementation and stakeholder's perception of the system.
  • The CBSE requested the stakeholders to provide honest feedback on the implementation of CCE. In its notification, CBSE asserted that CCE is undergoing a process for reformation.

However, many are not aware about the circulation as schools remain closed due to Ganpati festival. "Maybe this is a part of the new education policy. I have not seen the circular as our school is closed for the Ganpati festival. As soon as it opens, we will check what instructions the board has sent," Said Raj Aloni, principal of Kharghar's Ramsheth Thakur Public School.
