Police unearthed an exam racket which is guilty of conducting exams at the wrong examination center. The exams were of undergraduate courses of a university which offers courses via distance education.
Police on Saturday said that the private school took money from the candidates who did not do well in the regular exams. Police acted on a tip and raided the center on Friday. During the raid, police found that the exam was being held at the wrong center in the night and they seized 19 answer-sheets.
Jagadgirigutta Police Station Inspector A Ganga Reddy said: “they found that a private school official was allegedly facilitating, upon request from some of those who could not properly write the exams by conducting re-examination in another center instead of at the original one.”
Police further told that an official was in the process of sending the answer-sheets (now seized) by clubbing them with the other sheets.
The inspector said, “a case under IPC section 420 (cheating) and under the Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair Means Act was registered and the school official was taken into custody”.
