On Sunday, Smriti Irani (Union HRD minister) announced that
higher education material will be freely available to students through mobile
app and other sources.
Irani confirmed this news when she was at the 20th Foundation Day of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow. She said that already through mobile apps and e-pathshala NCERT books have been made available free to students. Now, higher education material will also be made available.
For this purpose, 1,200 additional educational modules would be prepared so that they can be made available through mobile app, said Irani.
University needs to adopt 10 villages under "Unnat Bharat" campaign by next year, a suggestion was made by Irani.
Currently university has adopted five villages. The minister persisted the students to study not only to make a career but also emphasized about their contribution towards the country.
At this occasion with Irani were present Lok Sabha MP Anju Bala, former BJP MP Lalji Tandon and vice-chancellor RC Sobti.
