According to the reports, the admission committee of the DU will meet on Tuesday and will discuss the implementation of the 10 percent reservation for the EWS category from the general section of the society.
The Academic Council of the university had decided to launch 30 new courses in its meeting on January 2 at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Some of the approved courses are:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Honours) in Bhimrao Ambedkar College
- BA (Hons) in Economics in Dyal Singh college and Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa college
- BA (Hons) in Philosophy in Hansraj college
- Master of Arts (MA) in English in Gurunanak Dev college
- Master of Science (MSc) in operational research at Shaheed Sukhdev college of Business Studies and Keshav college.
The admission committee however, said that they have not received anything in written about the newly introduced quota.
Last week HRD Ministry had announced that it will implement 10 percent quota for the EWS category from the general section of the society from the 2019 academic session and will increase 25 percent seats in higher educational institutes of the nation.
