Delhi University has launched a program under which it will provide free coaching to the students belonging to the Economically weaker section of the society. The coaching will be conducted to help these students in preparing for the DU entrance exams for various PF programs.
A statement issued by the DU said “the purpose of the DU Pre-Entrance Summer School 2018 is to prepare students for the academic approach to be adopted for clearing the entrance examination and benefit the aspirants who wish to pursue higher education. ”
The program has been two years old and is now entering its third successful year.
"Academic empowerment of the students from socio-economic weaker sections has been a commitment of University of Delhi towards an inclusive growth of the society. To achieve this goal, for the last two years, University has launched a programme to hold classes to help students appearing in entrance examinations to the various post-graduate programmes," said the statement.
The entrance classes from the DU will cover the following eight disciplines:
- Commerce
- Law
- Journalism (Hindi & English)
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Computer Science
- Zoology
Students from the following categories are eligible to apply for the two-week program:
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS/BPL,)
- SC
- ST
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
- Minorities
- PwD (EWS/BPL only)
- Kashmiri migrants
- Wards of War Widows/Ex-servicemen (Defense)
Application forms for the 'DU Pre-Entrance summer School 2018' are available on online, which students can download. The seats in the program are limited and the names of the selected candidates will be displayed on May 30, Wednesday 5 pm.
