The Delhi University has announced the date for its undergraduate admissions this year. The application dates open from first week of June and will last till 14th August 2015. This time, the registration process would be online but the offline centralized forms would also be available in the last few days to help the students who couldn't fill up the form online. Also, the printed prospectus won't be available this year.
The 23 member committee has suggested that the admissions must start from 1st June. The recommendations would be sent to the University for the final approval.
Majority of the members in the committee vouched for a complete online process with on offline forms. But the committee decided to offer offline forms in the last days keeping in mind the lack of internet connectivity in the rural areas.
The offline forms would only be available at select centres in the last three to four days before the deadline. These students would also get a guide paper, telling them how to fill up the form.
The committee was also recommended pushing the cut off date from the usual 31st July to 14th August. This year, there could also be a gap of one day between the admissions and the cut off list.
Also, the University won't put any penalty for gap years and the admissions would be solely based on the cut offs. The committee has also decided to reduce the relaxation for women aspirants from the existing 5% to 3%.
