The esteemed Delhi University is contemplating taking the entire undergraduate admission process for 2015 - 16 session online. For the same purpose, a 23 member committee has been formed by the University. The main task of the committee would be to come up with all the related policies for this change.

A number of people are of the view that the applications for the undergraduate programs, just like the postgraduate programs, should be done online.

Although online centralized registration forms were introduced by DU firstly in 2012-2013, it carried on with the offline centralized OMR registration forms as well.

A lot is expected out of the recommendations of the committee because the University has been fiddling with the idea of online examinations ever since the introduction of Choice Based Credit System.

One of the other points of discussion would be the common eligibility criteria.

The specialized committee comprises of deans from the faculties of arts, science and commerce, principals from nine colleges and some members belonging to the executive and the academic council.

The convenor of the committee is the dean of student's welfare.

The admissions are supposed to kick start from the month of May. As many as 54,000 undergraduate students are offered admissions in different colleges of the University. As far as the PG courses are concerned, the centralized online application process has already begun.
