Students of the School of Open Learning, Delhi University demanded postponement of the examinations. The students urged the VC to postpone the examination of the School of Open Learning since the date sheet for the examinations has been released quite late.

The exams for the students pursing the Master’s Degree in Political Science are supposed to start from coming Thursday and they received the dates on Monday only.

The students said that the exams are about to begin and they have no time to prepare. The students also met the higher authorities of the SOL for the postponement of the examinations. Since no response came from the authorities the students approached VC. “This kind of ad hoc behavior by the SOL has been seen in the past also, and they have released untimely date sheets quite often” said one of the students.

The students are determined to start agitation since their demands for postponement of the exams were not considered. More than 300 students are pursuing Masters Degree in Political Science out of 12,000 students.

“Usually university releases date sheet one month prior to the examinations” said one of the students.

The SOL authorities have a different version for the same. They said “The date sheets had been updated as early as in July’16 and the final dates of November 24th had already been communicated.

However the students said that “no specific information regarding subject-wise date sheet was mentioned in the calendar.
