Recently, DU identified another fake education board and to prevent the bogus admissions into the University, it is likely to order its affiliate colleges an investigation of the students under the board. Last year, the University reported Board of Higher Secondary Education (BHSE) to the Delhi Police and earlier this week it identified Delhi Board of Secondary and Senior Secondary Education (DBSSSE) as another fake board.
Following the complaints, the University scanned through the admission data to find out the students who have secured admissions under the DBSSSE board. It may be noted that Delhi does not have its own education board.
Last year, BHSE fake board racket was busted by the Delhi Police which had issued 20,000 fake mark-sheets to the students. The board also showed that it has more than 300 affiliated schools.
According to the university officials, students holding the mark-sheets issued by DSSSB were found in at-least seven colleges of the DU.
“There was grievance that was received and the university is looking for more cases. Once it is found action will be taken. This is not any scam but of students getting admission with the mark-sheets of boards which do not have recognition,” said MK Pandit, chairman of the undergraduate admission committee.
DSSSB has its own website, which claims that it is "an autonomous body according to NEP 1986, Govt. Of India. Also states that it has applied for certificate under CRP act 1957(MHRD) Department of higher education, Govt.of India".
