Delhi University offers candidates an option to cancel their first admission and chose a new college or seat of their choice

After the release of the first cut-off, many students took admissions in various colleges under the DU and many could not get or have to settle with the second option because of the high cut-offs. The university on Sunday released its second cut-off list and students who could not make it to the first cut-off list can check the second list to see if they fit the criteria.

Delhi University offers candidates an option to cancel their first admission and chose a new college or seat of their choice.

According to the guidelines set by the UGC, a candidate can only be enrolled in one UG course. In case, the candidate wishes to change the college, he/she will have to collect original documents from the college where they have taken the admission.

Cancel the admission

After the second cut-off list is out, make sure that you qualify the criteria. After that visit the official DU portal and cancel the first admission. Fill the cancellation form, pay the cancellation fee and take the print out of the slip. If the admission fee at the second college is same as that of the former then it will be adjusted. If it is higher then the candidate will have to pay the balance and if it is lower than the balance will be refunded to candidate’s bank account after few weeks.

Obtain the original documents

Once you have the cancellation slip, visit the college with the same and obtain all the original documents so you can deposit them in the new college.

Repeat previous steps

Follow the admission formalities of the new college in the same manner and your admission will be confirmed on the DU’s website.
