DMK requested PM Modi to exempt Tamil Nadu students from NEET 2017

Legislation was passed in the Tamil Nadu assembly in order to exempt the state from NEET exam and in order to get the approval of President for the same, MP Tiruchi Siva requested PM Modi to intervene in the matter.


The legislation was passed in Tamil Nadu assembly on February 1 which exempts the students of Tamil Nadu from participating into national level entrance test (NEET) for getting admissions in medical and dental college.

After meeting with Modi Siva said "NEET exam is fast approaching and is scheduled to help on May 7 and applications for the same are closing on March 1. I have requested the PM to look into the matter and offer the permanent solution for large number of students who would be affected by the same."

A letter was also submitted by Siva to PM Modi in this regard on behalf of the party working president MK Stalin.


He also added, "NEET would be held on standards of CBSE which will only benefit the students from urban areas. At a time when political situation in TN is in stalemate, MK Stalin has taken up the issue as the NEET exam dates are approaching fast. "
