PK Upadhyay, the Greater Noida's District Inspector of Schools, asked the private schools in the area to justify their fee hikes by giving satisfactory explanation to the parents and said that any fee hike must be felicitated by the facilities in the schools.
“If the schools do not do so, the district administration will take action on complaints by parents. Private schools are under the wrong impression that the district administration has no jurisdiction on them as they are self- financed institutions,” he said.
He also said that the schools must dispel the disbelief that they are not under the jurisdiction.
He also made it clear that these institutes require NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the state government.
“Further private schools managements generally say majority of parents have paid the hiked fee. This does not justify the increase. Complaints by even few parents are enough to order an inquiry. The district administration can seek their balance sheet and investigate,” said Upadhyay.
Some parent visited the office of the DIOS last week and alleged that schools are hiking their fees without any proper explanation and justification upon which Upadhyay assured that proper actions will be taken to check if the increased fee is in permissible norms.
