A one year diploma course has been announced by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in guidance and counseling. The course of for the training of the professionals and will be available in the combined - distance and face-to-face mode. With this course the NCERT is aiming to enhance the skills of the teachers which will further help in promoting the holistic development of the pupils which will enable them to handle their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical problems.

The course is open to teachers, teacher educators, school administrators and untrained guidance personnel from India.

The course will be delivered in three phases:

  • Distance (six months; January - June, 2018)
  • Face-to-face contact program at respective study centers (three months; July - September, 2018)
  • Internship in home town (three months: October - December, 2018).

Admission process

For admission candidates will be offered DEPFE, NCERT, New Delhi and Regional Institutes of Education at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong.

  • Maximum number of seats at each center will be 50
  • Government candidates will be preferred
  • Advance copy will be considered for applicant's screening
  •  In the matters related to decision NCERT's decision will be final.
