The long wait for the candidates who had applied for admission in the nation's prestigious Delhi University as the first round of admission commences. 

The first cutoff list was declared yesterday and the admission procedure for undergraduate courses begins today. Students can check the cutoff list which is displayed on the university's official portal. The students who wish to apply and are eligible for admission can download and submit the completed form with requisite details and take a printout along with the listed documents, print out of the form and their self-attested copies they need to visit the designated college at any of the three days of admission. 

According to official sources, a total of 2,50,914 applications was received by the university for the 54,000 seats in 63 colleges, as compared to last year's 2,91,819 applications. From a total of applications, 1,30,354 applicants are male and 1,20,545 are female applicants. 15 applicants from the others category have also applied for the admission and under the sports quota, there are 10,382 applicants. A total of 8,273 applications is received, under the ECA quota. Each college reserves not more than 5% quota in the category and under Kashmiri quota, there were just 430 applicants. There are 318 applications received under the Defense Category (CW); however, the University had set up centers to help out the disabled candidates and due to this number of applications have increased as 1,187 applicants under the disabled category have applied.
