With the aim to raise the level of education and to build skilled staff, Delhi government has taken the initiative to launch a diploma course in pre-school education.

The course will start at nine District Institutes of Education and Training and is offering 450 seats in its first year. According to the official release this move aims to build the capacity which is required for the Early Childhood Education Development (ECED) program.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "Our Government understands that merely announcing grand plans is never enough for them to succeed. There is a need to create institutional foundations on which programs can be run successfully. In order for our plan to open 3000 ECED centers, it is important to build human resource capacities in parallel. That is the purpose of the newly launched Diploma program. While several states run anganwadis for children under the age of six, there has never been an attempt to run formal educational institutes on such a large scale by any government."

Delhi's government is trying its best to provide quality education which is accessible to every child in Delhi.
