The online application window for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC NET will close today i.e. on October 17, 2018. Candidates who are interested in applying for the job but haven’t done so should hurry up and visit the official website -- csirhrdg.res.in -- to apply for the same.

The exam is scheduled to conduct on December 16, 2018. The exam is conducted to test the eligibility of the candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET.

Exam pattern

The exam consits of a single test which is conducted in the morning and evening shift and consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from the subjects such as life science, Earth science, Mathematical science, Chemical science, and Physical science.

Educational qualification

Candidate must have completed M.Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-

MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55 percent marks. For the reserved category, the same limit is 50 percent.

Candidates with 55 percent marks who are enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program or have completed their B.Sc(Hons) or equivalent degree are also eligible to apply.

Age limit

For JRF NET, The maximum age of applicant should be 28 years as on July 1, 2018. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD)/female category there is a relaxation of five years and in case of OBC(non-creamy layer) candidates the relaxation limit is three years.

Examination fee

General category - INR 1000

OBC candidates - INR 500

SC/ ST/ PwD candidates - INR 250
