Taking a stand against the dismal standards of education in the state of Odisha, the higher education minister in the state has asked the college teachers in the to refine their teaching skills to ensure a rise in the quality of graduates coming out of the state.

Pradeep Kumar Panigraphy, the state's higher education minister was quoted saying "When we are working for quality enhancement in higher education, it should be both in teaching and learning,"

These remarks from the minister came when he was inaugurating a workshop on 'Quality enhancement in higher education of Odisha'. The event was organized by the regional directorate of education, Berhampur.

The minister said that the Government has come up with the choice based credit system along with vocational education in Plus III.

He further added that the Government has chosen a number of experts from different Universities for the purpose of coming up with a uniform syllabus for Plus III course. He hoped that such measures would help in revamping the education in the state.
