IGNOU is one of the largest open Universities in the entire Asian continent. Each year, lakhs of students pursue their undergraduation, post graduation and other courses from this University. Last week, Indira Gandhi National Open University recompensed degrees, recognitions and authentications to 1,92,000 students.

The accreditations granted at the conference incorporated 98 PhD degrees, 25 MPhil degrees, 47,198 Master's Degree, 75,305 Bachelors Degree, 51,253 Diplomas and 17,939 endorsements.

The figures, on the other hand, have gone down as against a year ago's the point at which 2.3 lakh students were recompensed the degrees and confirmations.

The assembly service was broadcast live for the first run through on DD Bharti from the varsity's Convention Center.

"As opposed to the ordinary ones, I trust that open separation learning framework ODL has been seeing far more prominent obligations regarding instructing, skilling and giving a feeling of control and polished skill to a substantial number of learners," previous UGC director Hari Gautam, said in his assembly address.

"New training requests new comprehension. Time has now come that we cast our misgivings and hindrances and spot ODL framework at same platform as rehearsed at the customary colleges," Gautam who is at present the President, Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Science and Technology, said.

IGNOU bad habit chancellor Nageshwar Rao exhibited a yearly report of the varsity's accomplishments and new activities taken amid the period.
