The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is the West Bengal state government managed self-sufficient inspecting power for the Standard 10 examination (or optional school level examination) of West Bengal.
The examination for the 10th standard is known as the Madhyamik Pariksha or auxiliary examination.
The Madhyamik examination is directed every year and all the while everywhere throughout the condition of West Bengal furthermore in associates of the board situated outside West Bengal, somewhere else in India.
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education was set up in 1951 under an Act of the State Legislature called the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board was initiated by the then Governor of West Bengal Dr K N Katju on 3 May 1951 and the Board began working under the Chairmanship of Sri Apurba Kumar Chanda.
