Class 10 CBSE English Exam analysis

English paper has just been over for CBSE Class 10 board and students were seen happy and elated coming out of the exam hall.

CBSE successfully conducted the English for class 10 on 30 March 2017 and as students came out of the center they were happy and elated. Clearly there was an air of satisfaction among the students by the time they were finished with the exam.
"The Assumptive Assessment II English Communicative 101 for the Std X students of the AISCE 2017 has definitely brought smiles to students", said Mrs Amrita Chaudhuri, PGT in English, Mother's Public School, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The English communicative paper was divided into three sections and carried the total marks of 70 with all questions compulsory.

The sections were as follows:
Sec A - Reading 25 marks
Sec B - Writing and Grammar 25 marks
Sec C - Literature and Novel 25 marks

Analysis of the exam

The exam was simple as the questions were direct and student friendly but the questions on vocabulary may have caused trouble for some students. The writing section was easy. It had two questions. The question on story writing was simple and easy as sufficient hints were provided along with the guidelines. The letter writing questions focused on regular social problem and students were able to tackle them easily. The Grammar section and the questions from novel were direct and simple even the comprehension section consisted of direct questions.

Students themselves were happy with their performance in the exam and are expecting to score above 50 out of 70. The exam was simple as most of the students were able to complete the exam half hour before the actual time frame expired.
