Jaipur,

The Rajasthan Chapter of “Confederations of Indian Industries (CII)” has taken a step forward towards helping “Rajasthan Technical University (RTU)” and its affiliated engineering and management colleges to get over placement blues.

The CII has collected 75 live projects from its member companies and given them to RTU to be further allotted to its affiliated colleges. These colleges will assign these projects to students who will have to submit a detailed report in a stipulated period of time.

These projects will be a part of their summer trainings. On the basis of their work they’ll be given grades vis-à-vis job opportunity. “This is just a beginning of our association with RTU. Our aim is to mobilize our resources sources by creating opportunities for students and also enhancing the curriculum” said Mr. Nitin Gupta, Director & State Head of CII.

RTU has 129 engineering colleges and more than 100 management colleges with over 2.5 lakh students. The move is aimed at bridging the gap between the industry requirements and institutes. The CII has told RTU to streamline its academic calendar which will help institutes in drawing companies in advance for placements.

Mr. Gupta added that soon they’ll be completing the list of CII’s nominees who will re-design the academic modules and making them industrially oriented. Figures said that RTU campus placements remain nearly 15% which is no doubt a poor show. Although, few colleges are able to attract Forbes 500 companies.
