Students who are looking forward to make a career in the hospitality industry can now apply for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2018. To fill the online application form, students can visit the official website-- nchm.nic.in. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on April 28.
The exam is taken to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the Bachelor of Science program in hospitality and hotel administration, which is offered at the 58 IHMs.
The course is six-semester, which is offered over duration of three years jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Eligibility
The candidates must have passed class 12 or it equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Students who are going to appear for the board exams this year, will be required to submit a provisional certificate.
Age limit
As on July 1, candidate should not exceed the age of 22 years.
Exam pattern
A total of 200 questions will be asked in the exam and their division is as follows:
- Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (30)
- Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30)
- General Knowledge & Current Affair (30)
- English Language (30)
- Aptitude for Service Sector (50)
Candidates will be given three hours to attempt the paper and the paper will be bilingual (Hindi and English).
Marking scheme
- Correct answer: one mark
- Wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted
