With the result season coming to an end, the CBSE finally declared one of the most awaited results of the year "“ the class 10th results. And it brought a smile to the faces of lakhs of children with over 1.68 lakh students scoring a perfect 10 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).

In the exact figures furnished by the board itself, about 1,68,541 students across the country and outside got a perfect CGPA. Of these, 85,316 were boys while 83,225 were girls.

The results, as compared to the last year, were much better overall. In 2015, only 94,474 had managed a perfect 10 CGPA. Out of them, 45,082 were girls while 49,392 were boys.

Though the number of boys getting a perfect score was more than the girls, the girls had an overall better result than the boys this year around. The pass percentage of girls stands at 96.36% as compared to the boys' percentage of 96.11%. The overall pass percentage of this yea (96.21%) is, however, lesser than the last year's numbers "“ 97.32%.

Among the different regions in the country, Thiruvananthapuram came on top with a pass percentage of a whopping 99.87%. The second position among the regions was occupied by Chennai with 99.69%. Among the differently abled students, the pass percentage was 95.18%.

School wise, the Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalayas recorded a pass percentage of 98.87% while the Kendriya Vidyalayas had a pass percentage of 98.85%. 3209 students from the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalyayas and 12,719 from the Kendriya Vidyalayas scored a perfect 10 CGPA.
