It was surprising how IIM Ahmedabad declared the results for
Common Admission Test, i.e. in an unprecedented manner to the MBA aspirants.
IIM sent direct messages to students on Friday afternoon at their registered
mobile numbers.
Students were all smiles at this. Rishabh Yadav, who is a student of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was waiting for his results and he couldn't believe his eyes when a message flashed at his mobile screen at 1.15 pm on January 8 stating that his CAT percentile is 99.99. He had enrolled in T.I.M.E Dehradun.
Yadav had been dreaming of doing MBA from top league college like IIM. He was expecting a good score and message directly from IIM came as a surprise to him.
According to Amit Mittal, (Career Launcher (CL) Dehradun centre director), this is the first time when results were sent directly to students mobile number. The detailed score card is available on the website. He also stated that one of their class room students from IIT Roorkee scored perfect 100 percentile. This makes him one of All India toppers.
It was found out that although results were directly sent to CAT aspirants, call letters weren't sent by IIM's yet. However, students getting 98 and above percentile are expected to get a call by one or the other IIM's soon.
According to Nischay Budhiraja studying Engineering in 4th year, IIT Roorkee who has bagged 100 percentile and is one of the All India CAT'15 toppers, he was excited and surprised to get a message directly from IIM CAT. He expected to score well as he had performed well at the CL class mock-tests but a 100 percentile came as a pleasant surprise for him. He hopes to get a call from IIM Ahmedabad.
T.I.M.E. Dehradun Director, Rajeev Kukreja commented that some of the best performers of CAT hail from IIT- Roorkee but this year students from other institutions did exceptionally well by bagging 99.99% (two from dehradun). Also, CAT took by surprise as they sent messages to the students.
This year is also special as students will get a chance to not just enter existing 13 IIMs but also apply for additional six IIMs which started their session in 2015. CAT 2015 results will be valid till December 31, 2016. CAT 2015 web portal had put up a notice stating that CAT 2015 percentile was sent through SMS and score cards will be available by 8th Jan.
