Union HRD (Human Resource Development) Minister said that “stress should be given on ‘learning outcome assessment’ in primary schools. There is a need to conduct it before promoting students”.

The Minister was addressing at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Lal Bahadur Shastri Shiksha Seva Niketan at Manda. He said “parameters are being decided for evaluating the learning outcome”.

The minister said that “No-Exam, under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for primary classes, doesn’t mean No-Learning for Students”.

The government will soon decide on the parameters for the learning outcome assessment and the pattern for CBSE Class X exams. All the changes would be effective from 2017-18”.

Javadekar also said “The higher education institutes should focus on research, development and innovation. The government is working to strengthen such activities in higher education institutions”.
