On Friday, the government of Arunachal Pradesh released INR 53.26 crore to give stipend and scholarships to the students of the state. The amount has been released for a total of 38,594 students. The government decided to release the funds amid the financial crisis owing to the breakout of the coronavirus.
CM Pema Khandu said that the state government has decided to release the first installment of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) and entire assistance under the state stipend scheme to the students.
“To
mitigate the hardships and financial woes being faced by the students
due to lockdown, the Arunachal Pradesh Government is releasing
scholarship and stipend amounting to ₹ 53.26 Crores for 38,594
students of Arunachal Pradesh,” tweeted Pema Khandu
(@PemaKhanduBJP).
The
first installment of INR 23.50 crore has been released by the
government for 20500 students and each student will receive an
amount of INR 11,500
each.
