The CAT this year will be held on December 4, 2016 which will test the candidates in:
- Verbal ability and reading comprehension
- Data interpretation
- Logical reasoning
- Quantitative abilities
Considering that more than 2,00,000 candidates registered for the CAT exam last year the board has put some policies in place in order to manage the growing demand of the test.
The examination will be held in 138 cities in Indian and the candidates will be given four preferences to select their exam center on the basis of their convenience.
Candidates with Bachelor's degree and with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent are eligible for the test.Candidates who are completing their final year of the bachelor's degree or with equivalent qualification or those who have completed their final year but are waiting for the result are also eligible for the test.
Ramnath Kanakadandi, CAT course director, T.I.M.E. institute said "The exam pattern is the same as that for CAT 2015. Sectional timing of 60 minutes, on-screen calculator and non-MCQs (multiple-choice questions) from CAT 2015 are all present this year too."
He further added "Students can breathe a sigh of relief as the test strategies that they have been working on, based on CAT '15, need not be dumped."
Registration for CAT 2016 will begin on August 8, 2016 and close on September 22.
