The aptitude test for the selection of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) will be held on November 3. The test will be conducted both in Hindi and English at various exam centers across the nation. Candidates who are currently enrolled in class 11th and 12th in science subjects and have scored at least 75 percent marks in class 10th are eligible to appear for the exam. The exam aims to boost the culture of scientific research among the students. The scheme was launched by the Department of Science and Technology in 1999.

Candidates who will qualify the exam, the scholarship for them will be activated only if they chose to pursue graduation in basic science subjects and secure a minimum of 60 percent marks in the class 12th exams. Candidates who are studying in class 11th currently will be invited for the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp during the interim period of one year before the completion of their class 12 exams. They will be called only if they qualify the exam.

Candidates who are pursuing their undergraduate course and are in the first year are also eligible to participate in the exam. The selection will be done based on their performance in the Aptitude test and an interview. A merit list will be prepared based on their performance in the aptitude test and students will be called for the interview.
