AHMEDABAD: The cluster 2 placements at IIM Ahmedabad for 2017 batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) saw American e-commerce giant Amazon recruiting the maximum number of students, here on Sunday. More than 40 firms took part in the second cluster consisting of 5 cohorts: consumer goods & services; general management; consulting; pharmaceuticals; and technology.

Amazon made a total of 18 offers, followed by Aditya Birla Group with 17 offers. Airtel followed with 9 offers; Tata Administrative Services and Mahindra & Mahindra with 8 each; HUL, Novartis and Johnson & Johnson with 6 each, Mondelez made 5 offers; and P&G and Dr Reddy's with 4 each in various designations.

Regular recruiters from the consumer goods & services cohort included Airtel, HUL, Mondelez, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser, Star TV, Vodafone and Wipro among others. Large number of offers were seen in the general management cohort.

DrSantruptMisra, CEO, carbon black business and director Group HR for Aditya Birla Group, stated that IIM-A has always been the most preferred campus for them. This year, they have hired 17 students for their leadership programme to prepare them for becoming next generation leaders.

Third cluster recruitments shall take place on November 4, which shall consist predominantly of the internet and e-commerce cohort. The jobs shall be offered in finance, product management, strategy and operations, among others. The final cluster of placements for the 2017 batch shall happen on November 6.
