Telangana State Council of Higher Education has decided that no student enrolled in the first or second year of the degree program will be detained. The students were informed about the decision through Osmania University’s official website.
Lockdown due to COVID-19 breakout is making it impossible to conduct the exams. Therefore, Telangana state decided to promote students of first-year and second-year to the next year. Students, however, will be required to clear their backlogs next year.
The council also said that a 50 percent credit rule will not be applicable this year. This is a one-time exception for the students of the current academic year. Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman, Professor T Papi Reddy said “even though degree examinations will be conducted, no student in the first or second year will be detained. Third-year students, he said that they would need to clear all examinations to obtain their degree.”
All colleges and universities in the nation have taken the path of e-learning amid the coronavirus breakout. Osmania University has instructed its faculty members to complete the remaining syllabus by the end of April with the help of online tools.
