On June 15, the result for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance exam was declared. The exam was held on May 28 for determining the eligible candidates for MBBS courses. last year, All India first rank was obtained by the Sathvik Reddy Erla from Hyderabad and this year, the All India first rank was obtained by the Nishita Purohit from Surat. The first round of counseling will be held from the July 3 to 6 and all the qualified candidates are eligible for the same.

Male candidates outperformed female candidates
This year the number of female candidates, which appeared for the exam were greater in number than the male candidates, the latter outshined the former when the results got declared. A total number of 2,077 male candidates cleared the exam while this number for the female candidates stayed at 1,828.
According to the reports from the HT out of 3,64,242 eligible candidates only 2,84,737 candidates appeared for the exam out of which male candidates were 1,33,933 in numbers while female candidates were150,793.
The MBBS entrance exam was held for a total of 700 seats from New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh (100 seats each). A total of 4,905 candidates qualified for the exam and are eligible for the counseling session.
