Irrespective of the course of study, Jamia Millia Islamia remains one of the most sought after education institutes in the country. With the announcement of introduction of 6 new courses, its popularity would only increase among the students. The new courses on offer include hotel management, international relations, travel management and pharmacy.
The forms for these courses would be available on the official website of the institute from 2nd February to 3rd March. As many as 190 new students would be inducted by the institute for these new courses which include MA in International Relations (West Asian Studies), Masters in Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) and LLM (Executive). The academic council of the University finalized the decision to introduce these courses.
Apart from the ones mentioned above, the other new courses would be diploma in Pharmacy (Unani), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM). One of the senior officials of the University was quoted as saying, "Except MA (International Relations-West Asian Studies) all other courses are self-financed. Thirty students each will be enrolled in MA in International Relations (West Asian Studies), LLM (Executive), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) and Masters in Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM) while 40 students will be admitted for Diploma in Pharmacy (Unani)."
Apart from this, a few courses were also discontinued by the University from the next academic year. These include BA (Hons) hotel management, travel and tourism (self-financed) course. Also, The post graduate courses and diploma in pharmacy would have a duration of two-year (four semesters) and the undergraduate programmes would have a duration of four-year (eight semesters).
