15 lucky women entrepreneurs have been selected by The N.S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-B) whose startup ideas will be supported by the IIM-B.
Their startup projects will be sponsored by Goldman Sachs, which is a renowned bank and global investor and these women will be trained online and in the classrooms on how to start and set up their business, which will help them in becoming the entrepreneurs of the next generation.
"Each of the 15 women will get Rs 40,000 per month fellowship to develop their business ideas into start-ups in diverse areas, including matching volunteers to social causes, specialized healthcare systems and customized social networks," the B-school said in a statement here.
"Technology, as the core business idea was a key theme in the program. Many ideas focused on community. Through the boot camp, our women entrepreneurs-in-the-making were able to learn and apply business acumen and domain expertise to help their ideas grow into a viable business," said IIMB Program Director Suresh Bhagavatula in the statement.
The 'Women start-up program' since its launch in 2016 November, attracted around 1700 females entrepreneurs from the nationwide and the final 15 were selected on the basis of their presentation and ideas before the panel of experts and other entrepreneurs.
This boot camp is an immense opportunity for the budding women entrepreneurs to expand their network among peers, venture capitalist, MBA students and Goldman professionals.
With the average age of 34 years, including the oldest at 53 years and youngest at 22, the participants were trained in developing the business plan, understand costing and pricing, sales, marketing and negotiation.
