Education is one of the most essential things which a child needs to become a perfect citizen of the country. Some decades ago the curse of illiteracy and ignorance disturbed the social life of Indians. Government is taking a lot of measures to fight against illiteracy. However, people also need to understand the requirement of education and they should show their interest.
Why people are needed:
Government is surely needed to take a lot of steps for improving the condition of education. However, there is no necessity to wait for the Government all the time to take all the necessary actions for developing the education system in India. People themselves can take some initiatives to develop the situation. It will decrease down the burden of the Government to a great extent as well. Most importantly more and more children and teenagers will get the opportunity for studying.
Arrange illiteracy camps:
There are plenty of school students and college students and local organizations who can arrange a lot of illiteracy camps in different remote areas. They can take help of various social organizations, and can contact various sponsors for the necessary fund. Sometimes, government also provides financial help to these illiteracy camps. People can reach various rural areas and can start doing these camps among the illiterate students there. In most of the cases you have to provide education absolutely free to these students.
Help Charity Institutes:
There are various private institutes which provide education to the poor people. These institutes have a bigger manpower and they reach various remote areas to spread the light of education. Often, they give uniforms, text books and many other necessary things to the students. You can devote a certain part of your income to these charity institutions. Indirectly it will help them to spread education to more and more children.
Aware others:
There are many parents who do not know the value of education and as a result of this; they do not know the importance of acquiring education. People, especially the students of colleges and schools and teachers can make those people understand the necessity of education. There are a lot of shops and hotels in your locality where a lot of child labor do physical works. You can make the shop owner and the other local people aware about the necessity of the education. If one man can take the responsibility of one poor child, a lot more children will be able to see the arena of schools.
How the students can help:
There are a lot of schools in which students have opened different cells where the poor students can get various helps for continuing their studies. Generally these cells are run by the old students of those schools. They can also apply for financial help from the Government. This is a wonderful initiative and plenty of students can get help from that.
Without Education, any kind of progress for India cannot be expected. Therefore, it will not be a sound idea to depend on Government only to spread education all over India. India is hugely populated. So, if those people take initiative to improve the educational system of India, the problem of illiteracy and lack of education can be eradicated in next two decades.
