Compared to most of the public sector jobs in our country, working for the RBI is one of the most lucrative and highly rewarding jobs.

Unlike the mains of the Civil Services Exam where you can choose your own subject in like Public Administration or Sociology and General Studies, for the mains of the RBI exam major focus is on Economics and Finance.

When it comes to recruitment, the RBI has different departments for which candidates are hired. RBI declares vacancies every year for Grade B officers and assistants. The number of seats available is close to a hundred each year. With the prospect that many upper class employees are close to retiring, the numbers can peak to a 140 or 150 this year.

Eligibility:

Assistant Category-

For applying as an Assistant in the RBI it requires a Graduate degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks for General category students.

Applicants should be between 18 "“ 28 years to be eligible to apply.


Grade-B Officers-

To work as officer in Grade B (General)-DR, a candidate should be at least a First Class pass-out in UG with a bare minimum of 60% marks, as an aggregate of all semesters or years.

Applicants have to be between 21 to 30 years.

Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD will get age relaxation.

The candidates who wish to take the examination require to apply online via the official website of RBI within the allocated time. All the pre-requisites for applying online are mentioned in detail on the online portal of the bank.

Examination-

After having successfully applied for the examination, the candidates are supposed to appear for two phases of exams.-

Phase I consists of an online objective type questionnaire and makes up for 200 marks. This online exam covers the areas of

1.General Awareness

2.Reasoning

3.English Language

4.Quantitative Aptitude

Those candidates who are shortlisted in the first phase are then called to appear for Phase II

Phase II consists of three papers comprising of essay type questions, comprehensions and précis writing. This phase of the examination is written in form. Papers are respectively based on English, Economic and Social Issues and Management.

After making through both the phases of the examination, qualifying candidates are called for an interview session. Having performed well in the grilling interview successful candidates are selected for their pre-examination training.
