Poverty is a curse not only because it makes the poor incapable of earning 2 meals a day for survival, but also since it retards the growth of the person physically, emotionally, socially & financially. Poverty means, a crippled life where one has to beg for alms, a life is without dignity, full of negligence, helplessness and pessimism. What compels a person to enter the web of poverty is lack of money, which can be earned only by working & if a person needs to fulfill his /her basic needs he/she is required to have a good financial status & that strikes back the whole concept to access to education. In other words, poverty is the cause & effect of illiteracy.

Education is a precious gift. It brings glory of happiness, hope, independence, endeavor & self esteem. But unfortunately, poverty obstructs the poor people to get easy access to education because neither do they have good source of education nor are they aware of its craving benefits. This is how poverty acts a cause of illiteracy. The fact is when a person becomes educated; he is eligible to get a job where he earns a living, not merely for survival but for an ideally prosperous life. However, this curse makes a person helpless as he can't attain quality education thus he continues to be entangled in this gloomy bleak world. This is the reason why generations after generations of such families have unfulfilled dreams & foggy future. And to say on a magnified scale, a country is on the verge of a deteriorating economy as the human capital goes wasted.

On the other hand, poverty behaves as an effect of illiteracy. It is so because illiterate people are the ones who are indulged in manual jobs requiring only physical skills which offer them meager wages not enough to meet their basic amenities. Thus, they find themselves in a pitiable situation where they are stuck with limited source and exorbitant desires. Low earnings leads to low standard of living & the latter results in the formation of this vicious cycle of poverty. It is very unfortunate to see some authority holders making efforts to oppress these people in order to make sure that they remain under their feet. They are obsessed with one task of not letting these people study since they are well aware that if these people would get educated they would be able to stand on their feet & no longer remain their puppets.

All the rag pickers, beggars & vagabonds do not find any way which could contribute to the betterment & progress of their so called gifted life which turned out to be a curse. The govt. needs increase its expenditure on the education of such BPL families to encourage them to study. It's time that the people from well "“off families should take an initiative to provide quality education to the underprivileged children. Only these philanthropists could hold their hands & bring them into the light of education which confers on them a beautiful life of optimism, pride & respect their life can be transitioned from misery to a blessing.

Two forks on a road, one leads to royal road & other to education. Which one would a man with wisdom choose? The answer is the second one as the road evades poverty away & creates a world of its own.
