NIIT has now entered into a Memorandum of Understanding [MOU] with Autodesk Inc. They have decided to provide education in designing and entertainment. Previously they have been known as an institution that has a huge reputation in the IT and engineering sector. Now they are on their way to exploring new lands. The design programmes will be offered at school level and at the institutions of NIIT they will provide major courses on designing.
With this new partnership between the two firms, they will offer various design programmes in their institutions. The University is also planning on setting up a new design lab so that they can offer master degree in designing. Many programmes will also be launched for the college students. This will help to increase the expertise of the people in this field and will also generate a sustainable amount of manpower for these skills.
The CEO of the company also stated that school teachers will also be offered these training so that they can enhance the learning among their students. It was made clear that from class 6 to 9 all will be entitled to special designing classrooms so that they can get a better idea of this study. This will help them to take this as a future option. Most employers are looking for these skills in their employees so this will help the students.
For school students the institution plans on opening a programme that will help students to think with design. The partnership will design the course for school students. Their major goal is to reach out to about a million students in the next 10 years with this course. Once they can achieve their goal they will be on the verge of changing the education system in India.
The MOU also aims to reduce the skill gap between the students. It was said that these courses and programmes will be introduced at a very early stage so that students can think of this as a serious career option. Not only that they can also turn into good designing professionals in the future. This partnership will help to create better professionals in the field of designing.
