The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organizes the AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). It is a national level competitive entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses. Broadly speaking, the examinations are held in the month of April and the results are announced either in the last week of May or the first week of June.
Eligibility for AIEEE
The eligibility criteria for appearing in the examination is that the candidate must have to pass the Class XII or its equivalent examinations. Those candidates who are pursuing Class XII and has given their final exam can also apply to sit for the examination. The admission of such candidate would depend upon their final exam.
The subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E. /B. Tech is Physics and Mathematics with any one of the subjects – Computer Science, Biotechnology, Biology or Chemistry. For B. Arch, Mathematics with 50 per cent marks in aggregate at 10+2 or its equivalent grade.A candidate can appear at the examination up to a maximum of three times in successive years.
Examination Pattern
The AIEEE entrance examination consists of two papers, Paper I of B.E/B. Tech course and Paper II for B. Arch course. The candidate can opt for any one or both the papers, Paper I has three sections of equal waited for three subjects – Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The question is of multiple choice objective type and each question has four choices with negative marking with one fourth of the maximum marks. Paper II has three sections – Mathematics, Drawing and Aptitude, Aptitude section has drawn based questions.

The Staff Selection Commission conducts open examinations for the post of different vacancies arising in central government departments. The Commission takesa different examination like The Combined Higher Secondary Examination, Graduate Level Examination, Matric Level Examination etc.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Matric Level examination the candidate must have to pass Class X or its equivalent examination and should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. The minimum age limit for applying for the examination is 18 to 27 years with some relaxation of upper age limits.For Combined Higher Secondary Examination the candidate must have to pass intermediate or equivalent examination. There are two modes of selection which are Written Examination and Typing Skills. These examinations are conducted for the recruitment of Lower Division Clerk and Data Entry Operator. The candidate must be a citizen of India, Bhutan or Nepal. The minimum age limit for appearing in the examination is eighteen to twenty seven years on the crucial date. There are some age concession in the upper age limit for SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Physically Handicapped, Departmental, Widow and Divorced Women candidate. The SSC results are generally declared after three months from the date of written examination.
