The Chief Minister of west Bengal visited a school on teacher’s day. There she decided to set up an education commission in the state. The commission will consist of 4 to 5 members. She is planning to set the foundation of the 2020 plan and will also look at making plans for 2030. The 2030 plan will be a vision that will help to guide the state education in future.

She thinks that these amendments will help the state government to provide the best quality education to the students of the state. It is being speculated that the commission will be set up in order to look at the flaws that exist in the current education system of the state. She feels that it will help in making suggestions to improve the syllabus of the state education. It will improve the teaching methods the learning ways of the students.

She does not want to leave any stone unturned in order to take make West Bengal the top rated state in India in terms of education. The plan is already in process. It is only a matter of time before the names that will form the commission are announced.

The chief minister spoke to many students and teachers on Teacher’s Day. She felt that the students must look to excel in their own way. The students of the state must look to outperform their capabilities. She realizes that it is not possible for every single person to get full marks but she feels that every student should aim to get the maximum marks. She feels that activities like art, dance and music should also be introduced into the school curriculum.

She feels that the current syllabus is excessive for the students and the syllabus must be reduced as quickly as possible. She felt that the load of the books in a student’s bag was so heavy these days that there is a fear of the children having backbone problems even before they grow into adults. Under her reign the state has reached the third position from 17th position in the education rankings.

The education minister of the state said that last ear new books were sanctioned for students of class 1.3 and 5. This year they are looking forward to changing the syllabus and books of classes 2, 4, 6 and 8. The latest book list was released by the CM. the syllabus of the state board will soon be changed by the government.

The education minister also mentioned that in the previous year 509 schools were promoted to the higher secondary level. This year he thinks that the state can promote another 499 schools. According to him already 326 schools have been promoted. More scholarships are now being awarded to merited students across the state. A lot of progress was made in the last 2 years. The CM awarded about a 100 teachers with the Shikshak Ratna Award on the occasion of teacher’s day.
